Swaminathan Venkatesh joins the firm’s growing Data & AI practice
BROOKFIELD, WI, May 23, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ — Microsoft Partner of the Year-winning professional services firm Concurrency, Inc., the first Microsoft-focused systems integrator to bring Ph.D. data scientists on staff, has further expanded its Data & AI practice. Swaminathan (“Swami”) Venkatesh, Ph.D. joins Concurrency’s integrated Data & AI team which also includes technical architects, developers and other Ph.D. data scientists. The team works cohesively to design and implement machine-learning and other cutting-edge approaches to improving business operations, products and services.
“Swami’s arrival at Concurrency comes at a great time as we are expanding our Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) practice,” said Nathan Lasnoski, Concurrency’s chief technology officer. “His strong background will help as we differentiate ourselves from competitors through use of Ph.D.’s for data science.”
Concurrency’s Data and AI practice group includes Microsoft MVPs and is made up of experienced technical architects and Ph.D.’s. The team brings statistical and modeling expertise to use machine learning and other AI tools to transform supply chains, manufacturing, employee productivity and consumer experiences.
Venkatesh holds three patents and has been published in more than 30 scientific journal publications, including two in Nature and another in Molecular Cell.
“While we already have a strong research ability, Swami now rounds out our biomedical capabilities with advanced biology,” said Eric Franz, practice manager at Concurrency. “Swami’s research strengths run deep—Nature is arguably the most cited and prestigious scientific journal in which to be published—and he complements those talents with demonstrated hands-on work experience with more than 10 years in the healthcare industry.”
Venkatesh earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the J.N. Center for Advanced Scientific Research in Bangalore, India in 2006. His technical experience includes programming languages, visualization, machine learning, and database, cloud and web platforms.
“What attracts me to Concurrency is the chance to put into practice powerful tools and insights that can genuinely transform organizations,” said Venkatesh. “It’s exciting to be part of taking projects from initial conception all the way to that operationalized result.”
