Yuba-Sutter Transit partners with cutting-edge firm to design the agency’s transit system of the future
CARY, NC, May 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — Innovate Mobility has been selected by Yuba-Sutter Transit Authority’s Board of Directors to develop a Comprehensive Operations Analysis and Short-Range Transit Plan (COA/SRTP). By launching this ambitious project, Yuba-Sutter Transit hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how its riders move throughout the counties in its service area and provide recommendations for the transit system of the future.
Yuba-Sutter Transit’s COA/SRTP comes at an opportune time as so many people move differently today than they did before the pandemic. Yuba and Sutter Counties’ rapid population growth further enhances these travel pattern shifts. With a growth rate double that of the rest of California, the region is expecting this trend to continue after the pandemic.
Beyond designing new transit services, Yuba-Sutter Transit also aims to better serve its vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. As part of its analysis, Innovate Mobility will use its state-of-the-art modeling solutions and its decades of experience with transit design. This will help Yuba-Sutter Transit identify where vulnerable populations reside and how best to provide more equitable and accessible service.
Keith Martin, Yuba-Sutter Transit’s Executive Director had this to say about the exciting project: “We know that the world has changed because of the pandemic; we are setting forth to help bring people back to transit by creating better experiences and offering new, forward-thinking solutions. We think the Innovate Mobility team is the right choice to help shepherd this project from paper to the road.”
Headquartered in North Carolina, Innovate Mobility is a transit consultancy whose mission is to help cities bring back transit ridership, reduce congestion, and create more equitable and accessible mobility solutions for all.
