Discover Answers to Liver Cancer: Free HCC Lunch & Learn Empowers Houston Community

Free April 25 event at Houston Methodist offers expert insights on liver cancer prevention, treatment, and nutrition, featuring a transplant dietitian and a free catered lunch. Space is limited.

HOUSTON, TX, April 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association will host a free, in-person HCC Lunch & Learn on April 25, 2026, at Houston Methodist Hospital, offering essential education on liver health, liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Developed in collaboration with expert physicians, this community event is designed to equip patients, caregivers, and at-risk individuals with clear, actionable information about liver cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Reflecting a growing focus on nutrition in liver health, the program will also feature a transplant dietitian who will discuss how dietary choices can support liver function, reduce risk factors, and play a critical role during treatment and recovery.

“This event is about empowering people with knowledge—because understanding your risk and your options can truly change outcomes,” said Andrea Wilson Woods, Founder and President of Blue Faery.

The HCC Lunch & Learn will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.) at Houston Methodist Hospital, 6565 Fannin Street.

This free event includes a nutritious catered lunch and complimentary parking for the first 50 attendees. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
Topics will include:

• Liver disease and HCC risk factors and symptoms
• The role of nutrition in prevention, treatment, and recovery
• Current treatment options, including transplant and non-transplant care
• The role of multidisciplinary care teams
• Resources for patients and caregivers

Texas has one of the highest rates of liver cancer in the United States, with rising incidence linked to conditions such as hepatitis, obesity, and fatty liver disease—making community education and prevention efforts especially critical in the Houston area.
